Who We Are

Clal – The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership is uniquely positioned to lead this work because we are both the premier pluralistic Jewish think tank and a leadership institute. We harness the power of Jewish wisdom to strengthen leaders and communities across North America. Through customized consulting, immersive training, and pioneering thought leadership, we help leaders and their institutions navigate complexity, expand their vision, and adapt with courage and creativity.

For over 50 years, Clal has been known for its people-first approach, deep commitment to pluralism, and ability to translate timeless tradition into meaningful tools for today’s challenges. As idea scouts, we develop and incubate forward-thinking frameworks that shape the future of Jewish life and the larger cultures in which we live—equipping leaders not just to respond to the moment, but to imagine what comes next.

Jewish@Work is one of those emerging areas: a space where Jewish identity, leadership, pluralism, antisemitism, belonging, and civic responsibility are all playing out in real time.

As a leadership institute, we are not only about helping employees plan events and react to crises, we support Jewish leaders who are creating community, meaning, and belonging in one of the most important places adults spend their time.

Clal brings deep expertise in Jewish leadership and pluralism, experience working across difference, a growing national network of Jewish workplace leaders, practical experience building digital infrastructure and convenings, and strong relationships with Federations, companies, ERG leaders, and Jewish organizations.

Jewish@Work reflects Clal’s broader aim of cultivating Jewish leadership that is adaptive, courageous, and responsive to the needs of our time.

About Our Programs

The Jewish@Work Resource Portal grew out of what we heard from Jewish employees in the wake of October 7: many were looking for greater support, stronger community, and practical resources to help them navigate Jewish life in the workplace.

In 2024, we conducted a national study of Jewish employees and employee resource groups. We found that many Jews do not feel comfortable being openly Jewish at work, while Jewish ERG leaders often are not equipped with the tools, guidance, and infrastructure they need to lead effectively.

So we created the Jewish@Work Resource Portal to help meet those needs, offering a centralized hub of resources, ideas, and connections for Jewish employees and workplace leaders.
