Colleagues shared their personal connections to the Holocaust or their family histories on a Reflection Wall to honor Holocaust victims and survivors. Participants shared stories, memories, and pictures of their families and their journeys. This wasn't technically an event, but it was a powerful reminder that this isn't ancient history. This allowed everyone to connect personally to the day while honoring the lessons and legacies of those who lived through this history.

We hosted a Chocolate Seder where we walked through the Passover story using chocolate and sweets to represent each part of the seder plate. We discussed the symbolism, asked questions, and enjoyed a fun, accessible way to engage with the holiday while tasting our way through the experience. For this volunteering event we partnered with the Arolsen Archives at the International Center on Nazi Persecution, for #EveryNameCounts, a global initiative to preserve the memory of Holocaust victims. We helped process and digitize historical documents belonging to individuals persecuted by the Nazis. Their website allows you to contribute by typing in info from scanned records and it is a really amazing way to honor the memories of those who humanity was ripped from them by the Nazis. Through this hands-on work, we played an active role in restoring names, stories, and identities to those who were targeted. The Jewish @ BCG community hosted a hybrid Jewish Wine Tasting event, bringing together colleagues from across North America (U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica) both virtually and in person. The event offered a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate culture, and enjoy a shared culinary experience. Participants enjoyed a guided kosher wine tasting led by Yotam Ariav, a Chicago-based MDP and former sommelier, who shared insights into the traditions and craftsmanship behind kosher wines. Attendees across participating offices gathered to sample Jewish foods, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages, while engaging in meaningful conversation and community connection. To ensure a consistent tasting experience across all participating offices, we partnered with KosherWineDirect.com as our wine distributor. This allowed everyone-whether joining virtually or in person-to receive the same selection of kosher wines featured in the tasting. Wines were shipped directly to U.S. offices ahead of the event. All participating offices selected a "point of contact" to receive/distribute the wine. The event successfully combined local in-person gatherings with a virtual shared experience, fostering a sense of togetherness across BCG offices.

We partnered with the AAPI ERG to host a cultural exchange during Jewish American and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. Together, we shared stories about identity, family, immigration, culture, and most importantly FOOD! We learned from one another and recognize both our shared experiences and unique traditions. The conversation helped build stronger cross-ERG connections and a deeper sense of belonging across the office.

For the fourth year in a row, the L'Chaim ERG at Netflix hosted a Sukkot celebration. More than 70 Netflix'ers joined us for a delicious catered meal and fun art activities in the Netflix Sukkah (which is now owned by the company and is up for the entire holiday on the roof of one of our corporate offices in Los Angeles). We welcomed the CEO of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles Noah Farkas as well as Rabbi Nolan Lebovitz of Valley Beth Shalom as our guests. And, for the first year, our New York office also hosted a Sukkot celebration -- also with a catered lunch and fun activities.

We set up an apples-and-honey station for the entire company during lunchtime. We offered different apple varieties, honey options, and a quick explanation of the tradition including teaching different hebrew greetings, "Shana Tovah". Colleagues stopped by to grab a sweet treat and wish each other a sweet new year.

A Special Russian Truth uncovers how a calculated Soviet disinformation campaign—engineered decades ago by the KGB to demonize Israeli statehood and sow division in the United States—planted the seeds of today’s anti-Israel rhetoric. Through first-person testimony and rigorous historical analysis, this eye-opening short film reveals the antisemitic roots behind familiar tropes, equipping viewers to distinguish propaganda from legitimate critique in the context of today’s conflicts. Featuring first-person testimony from respected historians, academicians, and peace activists from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, this short film provides viewers with concrete tools to recognize professionally crafted antisemitic tropes and understand their historical context, distinct from legitimate political critique.

Quarterly we arrange bagels and coffee with a leader in the Jewish Community. Gives the community a fun way to come together and get to know one another better.

The panel featured members of the Jewish @ BCG community from both U.S. and international offices, representing a range of tenures at the firm and varying levels of involvement in the community. The discussion was hosted by a senior leader within Jewish @ BCG and centered on the theme of being a "Heads-Up Jew" at work. Panelists shared personal reflections in response to questions such as: What does being a Heads-Up Jew mean to you, and how does it show up in your work at BCG? How do you navigate holidays and observances-such as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur-that may fall on workdays, particularly when colleagues or clients may not celebrate or be familiar with them? Can you share an instance when it was challenging to be a Heads-Up Jew, and how you approached or managed that situation? The session concluded with an open Q&A, allowing attendees to engage directly with the panelists and continue the conversation.

In honor of Mizrahi Heritage Month in November, we hosted a virtual Mizrahi dance class via Zoom. We invited an experienced instructor, Jackie, whose classes I had taken previously, and she led an engaging, accessible session that introduced others to Mizrahi dance, music, and cultural context. She then led a brief culture history lesson. The event created a joyful, embodied way to celebrate Mizrahi heritage and connect as a community, even in a virtual format. We started a book club at our government agency because we wanted work to feel more connected and collaborative. One book we chose was Palaces of the People, by NYU professor Eric Klinenberg. It opened up a fresh intellectual angle we hadn't explored before, focused on social infrastructure and the power of public spaces. On a whim, I emailed the author, introduced myself as working in civil government in Chelsea, and invited him to join us. To my surprise, he said yes and came to speak with our group free of charge. It turned into a meaningful, memorable event that brought people together in a new way. No one expected it, and that's what made it special.

We built and decorated a sukkah entirely out of candy! Each participant created their own sukkah out of candy, snacks, and sweet decorations. We explained the rules of a kosher sukkah and other Sukkot traditions. Some sukkahs were left on display while others were consumed.

We hosted a pre-Passover chametz party where everyone brought unopened non-Passover food to enjoy together before the holiday. At the end of the event, we collected all unopened items and donated them, combining the tradition of clearing out chametz with an opportunity to give back. We had people sign up ahead of time to make sure major areas are covered (i.e., chips, popcorn, donuts, etc.) and ordered pizza to make it as Chametzdik as possible. We also shared a link for people to be able to sell their chametz.

The Jewish ERG and Women's ERG collaborated together to celebrate Women’s History Month and the Jewish holiday of Purim. Our event was centered around female empowerment and the Purim story of Queen Esther, highlighting how women who step up to lead change inspire us. We had the idea of promoting “Esther Moments” within the event - a time someone is faced with a situation or challenge that calls for bravery or inspires empowerment. At the event, we set up an arts and crafts station (in addition to a festive photo booth and delicious hamentashen cookies!) for attendees to design a crown where they could write down their response to the following. Tell us about your Esther Moment: * a time you helped others or when someone helped you * the last time felt empowered * who comes to mind when you read about Queen Esther * a time you or a woman you know stepped up to lead change, face a fear, or overcome a challenge * something you want to overcome/change channeling the spirit of Esther The responses were amazing! We had crowns highlighting strong women from every walk of life - family, friends, coworkers, athletes, politicians, activists, singers, actors and more. It was so special seeing who immediately came to mind for each attendee and how they felt about that person and the impact they’ve made. With so much uncertainty today across our country and the larger globe, it’s all too easy to find ourselves slipping into a sense of impending doom and helplessness. It’s easy to feel powerless with everything going on. This event celebrated taking back that power. It was a vibrant reminder of the ways we can make a difference, big or small, to shape the world we want to live in, and how impactful that can be on those around us. Standing up for what we believe in not only keeps us true to ourselves, but it inspires others to confront truths and tackle challenges without any fear or self doubt. Especially today in the workplace, it is so incredible to see women unapologetically strong and confident in their work and their character, and not feeling like they need to make themselves smaller to make others more comfortable. We volunteered with United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) - Lower East Side umbrella an organization that includes home care services, food assistance programs, social services, and older adult centers. We sorted and stocked pantry items and packed groceries, providing assistance to those in need. Email Dan Valentino (Dvalentino@ujces.org) to schedule a date. We brought in a speaker from International Justice Mission (IJM) for an in-person and zoom, for those not in the office, session. They spoke about their mission to protect people in poverty from violence by rescuing victims, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength, and helping local law enforcement build a safe future that lasts. https://www.ijm.org/about

We hosted a Hanukkah-themed charity poker night where everyone bought in with a donation of $25, played rounds of Texas Hold ’Em using Hanukkah gelt, and celebrated the holiday with good food, music, and giving. The final winner got half the prize money and the remaining 50% went to the charity we selected ahead of time. We ended the event by lighting the menorah together and everyone went home a winner!

Over Hanukkah, our ERG packed 200 food and food-related packages for needy families in the community. We traveled together to Waltham kosher food pantry to do this volunteering opportunity. (Boston)

We light candles accross 7 offices in 3 continents — connected by video call. Presenter gave a 3 minute history of Hanukkah. And each person lighting a candle dedicated it to something — peace, return of hostages, wellbeing of the Jewish people, etc.

We hosted a fun Hanukkah White Elephant where everyone brought a small gift and joined a lively swap. People had fun stealing and sharing gifts among colleagues in the office.

We have an annual High Holiday Celebration Watch Party. It took place in our New York office but was also taking place in other large offices across the country - Chicago, DC, etc. The event was 1 hour long. The first 30 minutes was socializing and mingling with colleagues and food (pizza and salad was served). The planning team also put together mini giveaways for attendees (little bags filled with apples and honey packets). The food and gift bags were paid for by Jewish partners at our firm. During the second half hour, attendees tuned into our 2025 High Holiday call which was a zoom call. Jewish practitioners from across the country who are a part of our network were invited to the zoom call and the call was shared at all of the watch party/ high holiday celebrations across the country. Virtual Webinar looking at what we can learn about Jewish-Muslim Relations in North Africa during the Holocaust. The session featured Dr. Mehnaz Afridi, Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Interfaith Education Center at Manhattan University, and Peter Geffen, Founder and President of the Abraham Joshua Heschel School.

At our September ERG meeting (both in person and live streamed), we interviewed Danielle Remis, Chief Marketing Officer. She is also our executive sponsor for the group. She talked about her Jewish upbringing in Boston going to the Rashi school and how she chooses to celebrate the high holidays. She was a relatively new hire so many were eager to get the chance to hear from her. It was interactive with Q&A. People left more familiar with Danielle Remis as their leader, and aware of the cultural significance of the Jewish high holidays.

There was a falafel luncheon and presentation, featuring three employees who spoke about their families' diverse backgrounds and stories of immigration to American. One speaker was of Ukrainian descent, one speaker was from an Iraqi family (born in Israel and grew up in the US), and one speaker was from the former USSR and moved to America as a teenager.

Celebrate Israel Independence Day and Jewish American Heritage Month on Haven Plaza, the largest outdoor space on campus. Music and Folk Dancing

We organized a Jewish Comedy Night outside the office and invited colleagues to come laugh together at a lineup of seven stand up comedians, five of them Jewish. We partnered with a local synagogue and a Jewish stand up producer, Jared Schwartz, who handled all the behind the scenes coordination (https://www.jewishatwork.com/speaker/45). We served wine, beer, and hard seltzer, and some light refreshments. It was an incredible event of celebrating Jewish laughter and enjoying a night out together that didn’t feel like work at all.

We attended Jewish Heritage Celebration at Fenway Park in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month. We hosted a Jewish game night focused on Jewish impact on the world, using a custom Jeopardy-style game. Teams competed while learning about Jewish contributions across the arts, entertainment, science, business, sports, and social justice. It was fun, fast-paced, and sparked lots of “I didn’t know that!” moments.

We organized a charity kickball game with two teams, each playing in support of a different charity. Leading up to and during the game, participants raised money that was donated directly to the charities, and donations could also impact gameplay. Different donation levels unlocked fun in-game advantages, adding energy, strategy, and friendly competition while keeping the focus on giving back. $100 — Add a strike to a batter $250 — Advance one base $500 — Redo a specific play $1,000 — Run the bases as an automatic home run (only the runner scores)

We held a Hanukkah luncheon party where we provided traditional Hanukkah foods and taught people about the holiday. First, someone gave a short presentation on the story of Hanukkah and then everyone participated in a trivia game about the holiday. We also set up tables for dreidel playing but people were more interested in speaking then playing the game this year (people did play the prior year when we held a similar Hanukkah event).

We spent time learning the basics of being a Sofer Stam with Leana Tapnak, exploring how Torah letters are formed and what makes the writing sacred. We practiced writing the shapes ourselves, learned about the halakhic rules, and got a hands-on appreciation for the skill and precision of sofrut. We had a Jewish MS Teams (video conferencing)chat with monthly meetings for inspiration or current events or whatever was relevant. Really helped with belonging.

To celebrate Rosh Hashanah, we hosted a creative workshop where participants designed personalized New Year’s Resolutions boards. Everyone reflected on their goals, selected themed prompts, and decorated their boards using a variety of craft materials. We then invited people to share one of their resolutions over apples and honey. We wished everyone a sweet and successful new year!

A memorial for Oct 7th. I read out my Linkedin message, posted that morning, lit a memorial candle and recited the Kaddish before handing over to our Israeli CEO, who recited a special prayer for Oct 7th. We then closed with a 2 minute silence. The whole event took 10 minutes and we had Jewish colleagues on-line from multiple countries. It was brief but very powerful.

This past year, we had a Passover celebration in our New York Office. During the event, we served a kosher meat lunch from Mr. Broadway. To celebrate passovers, there were multiple stations with activities set up around the room. Here are some examples of the stations we had: 1. Mezuzah and tzedakah decorating stations (we had premade wooden mezuzot and tzedakah boxes that people decorated with markers) 2. 10 commandments station to learn about the 10 commandments 3. Seder plate station - gave out plastic seder plates 4. Matzah station - gave out matzah 5. Theme of four station - had print out with lessons/learnings about the importance of the number 4 on passover

We hosted a spring flower-arranging workshop tied to Passover themes of renewal and new beginnings. The session was led by an internal team member and hosted in partnership with another ERG. As we arranged our flowers, we reflected on springtime, creating centerpieces that symbolized growth, hope, and fresh starts.

We hosted a hands-on Tu B’Shevat activity where we planted seeds together to celebrate growth and renewal. One of our colleagues shared tips and tricks to help plant growth and we reflected on environmental responsibility, and discussed simple ways we can care for the planet both individually and as a workplace.

We organized a group movie outing to see Marty Supreme as part of Jewish American Heritage Month. Colleagues joined us to enjoy the film together and celebrate Jewish American storytelling and representation in pop culture. It was an easy, fun way to build community outside the office and spark conversation afterward.

Invited members of the ERG and allies to learn about the story of Purim and bake hamentaschen at an ERG member’s house. Encouraged attendees to wear costumes. Created multiple types of hamentaschen and pre-made the dough the night before to save time. Fillings included raspberry preserves, apricot preserves, chocolate, and dulce de leche.

We hosted an in-person Purim improv night focused on laughter, creativity, and embracing the joy of the holiday. Using improv games inspired by “yes, and” principles, we played interactive group games that leaned into Purim themes; costumes, reversals, surprise, and storytelling that created a high-energy, inclusive, and very silly atmosphere. We are a research organization, and among our projects are studies of Jewish communities in the U.S. as well as studies regarding impacts of antisemitism. During a panel, Members of project teams shared their work with our ERG. There was time for Q+A through a facilitator as well as for open discussion.

A Rosh Hashanah seder is a traditional holiday dinner in which we elevate symbols with meaning to inspire the new year. This presentation complements a dinner / program with the symbolic foods.

We hosted our first bank-wide Seder. We rented out a large office space and had it fully decorated, we catered and some people brought in special foods. We had 6-8 tables with place settings. The Chief Marketing Officer, Danielle Remis Hackel, led the service (she went to Rashi dayschool). Different people shared their different ways of doing things. What stood out was that 20% of the attendees were not Jewish, so this was a great educational opportunity as well.

We partnered with Dorot to write cards to senior community members in celebration of Rosh Hashanah. Participants shared wishes of a sweet new year, high holiday greetings, and personal notes to add brightness and light to this holiday season. This activity allowed us to spread joy, honor the holiday, and create meaningful intergenerational connections with seniors who might otherwise feel isolated.

In different cities and different dates, we had people host shabbat dinners. People were a mix of different levels of observance, some homes were or were not Kosher. Some catered, some cooked, some did pot lucks.

We hosted a Shabbat lunch potluck outdoors, bringing the Jews of the office together to enjoy homemade dishes, share challah, and hang out as a community. We encouraged people to bring their families, dogs, park toys, and picnic blankets. Before the event, we shared a Google Sheet to coordinate mains, sides, desserts, and more, and we supplemented with additional food and desserts while providing cutlery for everyone. It was a relaxed, festive way to celebrate Shabbat together in the fresh air.

Every year our Jewish ERG visits hospital patients to bring Purim joy, deliver mishloach manot, and spend time chatting, and spreading warmth. Some dress in festive costumes, share homemade treats, and brighten the day for people who are celebrating from the hospital. A small group met beforehand to assemble mishloach manot bags to hand out.

We hosted a Shavuot-themed happy hour featuring cheesecake and drinks, paired with a short Torah learning session. We asked people to break into groups of 2-3 to allow for connection building, and then we came back together to discuss as a group!

We hosted a Friday post-work happy hour on the roof of the office to honor Shabbat, bringing the office together for challah, wine, and candle lighting. We enjoyed snacks and drinks while taking a moment to pause, reflect, and connect with the themes of rest, gratitude, and community that Shabbat represents.

We gathered in the sukkah for lunch, where we enjoyed food, music, and time together. We shared the meaning of sitting in the sukkah, spent time connecting with coworkers, and celebrated the holiday in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Host a screening of "Surviving Nova" a Peabody award winning documentary on the October 7th attack at the Nova music festival in Israel followed by a Q&A with director and producer Gilad Thaler. Synopsis: The Nova music festival was meant to be an exhilarating night of music and dancing in the desert. But as the sun rose on October 7th, Hamas gunmen crossed the border from Gaza launching a surprise attack on Israel. Nova attendees were among the 1,200 people killed and 253 hostages taken by Hamas according to the Israeli government. The attack quickly turned into the deadliest day in Israel's history. VICE News follows survivors of the Nova music festival as well as families of those taken hostage and killed, as they deal with the trauma of the attack while grappling with Israel’s response.

We hosted a Shabbat challah bake where people made their own dough together at work, learning the steps and traditions behind challah. After kneading and shaping their loaves, everyone took their dough home to bake, creating a personal Shabbat experience for themselves and their families.

During our lunch break, we took a reflective walk together to symbolically “cast away” unhealthy habits using the Tashlich tradition. We each shared a habit we wanted to let go of, tossed a piece of bread into the water, and set intentions for healthier patterns moving forward.

We met at a local bar for a “Torah on Tap” session where we paired up with Project Zug / Hadar materials and learned together over some drinks. We discussed the texts, shared insights, and enjoyed a casual environment that made meaningful learning feel fun and accessible.

We hosted a Tu Bishvat seder focused on themes of nature, growth, and renewal. We moved through the traditional structure using fruits, nuts, and wine/grape juice, paired with short readings and reflections. The event took place over lunch and invited the entire office to join to discuss environmental impact, sustainability, and practical ways we can contribute both as individuals and as an office community.

This Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year), MLB Mitzvah is proud to partner with Food Bank for New York City to raise money for people facing food insecurity in NYC through a virtual food drive. For Jewish Heritage Month, Goldman Sachs partnered with the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust to visit the Arthur Szyk exhibit, which explores the work of a Jewish artist and activist whose illustrations confronted fascism and antisemitism. We had an excellent guide walk us through the exhibit. We brought together 60+ attendees, including Chief Risk Officer Alex Golten, for the evening. We volunteered together at a local soup kitchen, helping prepare and serve meals to community members in need. We worked alongside staff and other volunteers, supported daily operations, and spent time engaging respectfully with guests, making the experience both meaningful and impactful. In September, with the Muslim ERG (Iman), we went to Community Servings in Jamaica Plain, Boston and delivered medically tailored meals to people across Massachusetts impacted by HIV/AIDs, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc. We had 20+ of us packing food and chopping vegetables. What stood out was we were working together in the kitchen, building individual connections with members of the Jewish and Muslim ERG.

We partnered with the Network of Women (NOW) ERG to run a winter necessities drive for those in need. We collected coats, gloves, hats, socks, and hygiene items, set up two drop-off bins across the office, and packed everything together before delivering the donations to a local organization before the holidays. It was a great way to make an impact and strengthen our relationship with another ERG.

We hosted a relaxing yoga session to help everyone stretch, reset, and release stress during the workday. A guided video led us through simple poses and breathing exercises, to allow our bodies and minds to reset for the New Year.

We gathered for a Yom HaShoah candle lighting to honor the memory of Holocaust victims and survivors. The event included lighting candles, reading survivor testimonies and reflections, and observing a moment of silence.

We partnered with Museum of Jewish Heritage Speaker Bureau to host a virtual lunch-and-learn where participants joined a video session to hear firsthand Holocaust survivor testimony. The event was extremely powerful to our non-Jewish colleagues who were invited to attend as well. Zoom session is about an hour: 45-50 minutes of testimony and 10-15 minutes of a Q & A session. We gathered as a group for an Or HaLev Jewish spirituality and meditation workshop. They led a guided meditation with framing, intentionality, and a brief Jewish learning. This was an hour long program with two twenty minute sessions. https://www.orhalev.net/
